Chilli Joe’s Chilli has been around since at least the start of last century, and has settled into Italian cuisine so comfortably that urban myth places Italy as it’s origin.
This is a great backyard or patio chilli as it is not a huge shrub, requires little work to maintain and yields a generous quantity of fruit over the period of a year.
On the heat scale it is moderate without seeds and hot with seeds.
It dries well for later use without loss of heat and rivals the Birdseye Chilli in usefulness and can be used as it starts to turn red from the vibrant green of the young fruit.
Fruit will usually exceed 30cm in length but we have noticed that the size diminishes during winter.
